Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
It has been awhile since we've given an update! No news has been good news, but unfortunately that has changed.
Let's start with the good news:
Noah has been doing very well. He's been trying to eat us out of the house woth the amount of food he has been eating since being home!
He feels great overall and has the energy to DO things but there hasn't been too much that he can do just yet. He hasn't been sleeping well at night, so he does need to do more physical activity just to make his body tired enough to actually allow him to fall asleep.
He did receive permission to skate on New Year's Day and with this news, he went rollerblading at home!
Noah has been able to visit his class a couple of times and he really enjoyed seeing everyone. Socialization is also an important part of the healing process.
Rob continues to recover well and he was even able to go back to work last week and start doing some school board chairman activities again!
His ache has sudsided a lot and we are thankful for the progress he is making.
As a family, we have enjoyed being home together. 4 snowdays in one week allowed us to spend time playing some new games that we were gifted and the boys enjoyed time outside with friends and they have also really been enjoying playing ministicks in the basement.
Now on to the not so good news:
At Noah's appointment this morning we were told that Noah needs a kidney biopsy done tomorrow because his creatinine numbers are not where they should be and they have not been dropping on their own. A biopsy should provide better answers.
Noah is going to be admitted overnight tonight and then hopefully come home afterwards, but he will need to go back for an IV steroid treatment for the next 3 days...
This is a sign of possible rejection and the steroid treatment is usually enough to get things back on track.
Please keep Noah and the reat of us in your prayers. Another hospital admission is not going over well right now.
Here is another song that I heard during a bit of a rough day and have been enjoying often since then: Come Unto Jesus by Laura Story
