Week 1

Psalm 28:6,7a

Blessed be the LORD! For He has heard the voice of my please for mercy. The LORD is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults.

It is hard to believe that we are only 1 week into our kidney transplant journey.

So much had happened and so many emotions have been experienced; much pain and sadness had been felt, but also some joys; and so many blessings have been experienced.
Rob continues to recover at home. There has been much improvement made in how much he is able to move and being off of certain pain medications have allowed him to remember more and not feel so foggy. Now if only he will just take his meds before he needs them!
Rob was able to visit Noah and I in the hospital two days in a row and this was such a blessing! (Thank you Gerald for being nurse, cook and taxi in my absence!)

Noah continues to fight and improve daily!
He was able to move out of the Paediatric Critical Care Unit and up onto the regular floor today! What this signifies is so incredible!

Noah has done some work with physio and enjoys doing some stretches and being able to hold his own drink and play on the iPad. He is really looking forward to the day that he is able to get up and walk again!
He's been drinking more and we are working on getting him eating. (He has a very large NG tube in his nose right now that isn't helping for eating, but is definitely helping for giving him meds when he is sleeping).

Noah had a busy day today. His nerve blockers came out, and we hope that he won't be in too much discomfort once their effect wears off. He was moved up to the regular floor and then had Dad, Danielle, Jordan and Curtis come for a visit and supper. (Levi wasn't feeling well, so he didn't come).
He even got hockey cards and was doing trades with Curtis!

We are all overcome by so many emotions right now. Goodbyes are hard after seeing eachother, kids all want to be home where they belong and we all just miss each other. By this weekend Rob is hoping to have Curtis and Levi join him, Danielle and Jordan at home and we pray that this transition goes well.

Psalm 62:5 - Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him.

Isaiah 26:3,4- You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord Himself, is the eternal Rock.
