It's a Good News Day

Rob went home today!

I'm not sure that they quite got his pain under control in the hospital, but if he stayed another night He would have been moved to a new, busier floor. He decided he would rather go home and make his own pain medicine schedule.

On his way home, he came to visit Noah in the hospital! Words cannot express how I felt when see Rob, and when seeing Rob and Noah together for the first time since surgery.

Rob was showing Noah his bandaids from surgery, so they compared. Sorry Rob, but I think Noah wins!

Noah had a great day today!

The un-sedated him and took out his breathing tube around noon and he has done so well since then! He told us he had the best sleep he's ever had for the first hour after the tube came out, and he also had the best dream: that all of us were home as a family doing something together!

Noah has been 'pain free' all day ( thanks to the 2 nerve blockers). He's been talking and smiling. He honestly looks so good! He really needed that second surgery. He looks so much better than he did after the first one.

The ultrasound this morning showed good blood flow to 93% of Noah's kidney. The other 7% is not receiving adequate flow, nut that's ok. The goal now is to protect the 93%. The doctors are pleased with what they see so far.

The army of people dedicated to helping him feel good and doing all that they can to help ensure that this transplant is a success is humbling and overwhelming. So is the amount of prayers being sent up to the Lord on our behalf.

Noah and I are currently hanging out, watching the Leafs game between little naps. Noah was pretty happy about being able to see the game!
