First Week Home

 Lamentations 3:22-23

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

God's faithfulness to us these last 3 and half weeks has been incredible! We have been reminded of it over and over again and we have much to be thankful for.

Noah has been home for a week now!
We came home to a house full of sick boys, which was not enjoyable and added to the stress of everything. But, we were able to enjoy time together and even had a fog day off of school on Wednesday. That day Noah did not have an appointment and the boys were feeling better, so it was a more normal day together and it was so nice!

Being home and able to do normal routine and family things is something that we too often take for granted.

Noah currently has to go for bloodwork 3 mornings per week. We need to be there by 8:00 because he needs to have bloodwork done before he takes his morning meds at 8:30.
The results have been good and no changes have needed to be made to Noah's meds yet.
Noah's creatinine levels are around 100, which they seem to be happy about.
His current overall kidney function is at about 30-40%, and as some meds are tapered down they expect that to go up to 60% and remain there. Of course, from our perspective, a higher kidney function would be nice, but this is typical for transplants and it's so much better than 13%!

Noah has completed all of his new Lego sets and is ready for some new challenges. This week we hope to get some school work and start working on his science fair project.

Rob continues to do well. He is still quite achy on the side that they removed the kidney from but he is able to move around, go for walks and attend church. He had a follow up appointment tomorrow, so we will find out what Rob can expect moving forward.

Noah has a day surgery scheduled for Thursday to have his catheter removed as well as the stent that is in the ureter between his new kidney and the bladder. Noah is excited to be tube free and thankful for a day surgery. I am thankful that I will have Rob by my side for this procedure!
