Pre-Op Day

Today has been a day full of emotions and activity.

We sent Danielle, Jordan, Curtis and Levi off to school and from there they each went to the place they are staying during surgery and recovery. They all left with mixed emotions and without a doubt those emotions will continue during the days ahead.

Saying those goodbyes was hard on my Mama heart, but I know that they are being held tightly in our Father's hand and that they too are being lifted up by many prayers.

Rob, Noah and I spent the morning packing, Rob got a hair cut and then we were off to the hospital.

Noah treated Rob to a coffee on the way to the hospital, as a thank you for the kidney Rob is giving him!

Noah has remained excited and pretty calm throughout today. It helps that he has some new Nintendo Switch games and a new Lego set from the Ronald McDonald House! Distraction is key right now.

Noah's xray and contrast scan went smoothly today and now it is just a matter of waiting until surgery time, likely around noon tomorrow.

Rob, our steady rock, has remained steady through all of this. It has been a blessing to have him by our side for today and not having him near tomorrow will not be easy; our goodbye to him will be super tough, but he is doing a truly amazing thing!

This verse has been a comfort today, and will be in the coming days:

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
