Unpredictable

Life is unpredictable. We make plans and we go about out daily tasks and expect things to go just how we have them planned out. But that's not the way it works!
We are not in control of anything. A frustrating thing sometimes, but a constant reminder that we need to lean upon the LORD for our daily strength and look to Him to guide our days and direct our paths.

Noah is currently on his third treatment for pneumonia. Last week, this last treatment was changed to a stronger antibiotic. Over the weekend Noah's breathing began to speed up and his heart rate was increasing. On Monday I took him in to ER where we had a repeat chest x-ray done and met with Noah's respirologist. The x-ray showed that the antibiotic hadn't made an improvement yet and that the pneumonia is now a collapse of Noah's lower left lung. We now have a follow up chest x-ray tomorrow and if this one does not show any improvement, Noah will be admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics to take care of this.

And so I have been reminded that I need to stay on top of things: laundry folded and put away, house clean and tidy, meals in the freezer because tomorrow might not turn out the way I planned it.
All of our bags are packed, the kids have places to stay and we are physically prepared to not be coming home after the appointment tomorrow. Mentally?! Not so much. Having had this happen many times before doesn't make the reality of it any easier.

We pray that Noah's body is able to fight this here at home and that he will continue to get stronger. We pray that the x-ray shows improvement and we are able to bring Noah home tomorrow and have dinner together as a family, but we know that God is in control and He has a plan in this also.
