And... we're home!
Noah's x-ray this morning showed much improvement since Monday and we were told to keep doing what we are doing...at home!
Hearing this was like a burden being lifted off of my shoulders. I didn't realize how heavy this load was until it was taken away from me and I am truly thankful for it. God is full of blessings!
At this point, it seems like the chest physio we are doing for Noah is having a greater impact than the antibiotics. He is still on antibiotics for another week to make sure that it stays away and we need to continue physio daily. We go for a follow up in 4 weeks - yeah Noah!
The doctor mentioned that at some point she would like to do a bronchoscopy - taking an inside look at Noah's lungs and airways to see if there is a blockage or 'floppy' area that is causing the lung collapses, but a date for this has not been set.
After Noah's appointments we were able to visit the paediatric floor where Noah stays when he is admitted to the hospital. It is so great to be able to see all the nurses that take such good care of Noah when he is a patient and to have them see Noah when he is healthy and thriving. We were also able to put a new picture of Noah up on the patient wall. Everyone on the floor knows Noah and his monkey, so this picture seemed appropriate:
Here is a picture of Noah and his (and ours!) favourite nurse. He is forever telling us how much he loves her!
One of the nurses this morning said "He looks so good! and to think that there were days when we didn't think it would turn out so well." What a humbling reminder that was that we have come close to losing Noah in the past and that each day we have with him is such a blessing. He has exceeded expectations and continues to surprise us.
I asked Noah to smile for me while waiting for the doctor...do you think he was feeling better?!
Once again we have been humbled my God's goodness and grace toward us.

So glad to read all turned out well this time and you could stay home! We were praying for you last night. He is such a cute little guy.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news! Praying that Noah may continue to improve and get stronger and soon be completely healthy again. May God give you strength for every day.
