September has come and brought with is some new things. Danielle is growing up - she is now in Kindergarten! It’s hard to believe that our baby girl is now in school. She was ready for it though, so there were no tears and it has made this transition easier. School is only 2 days a week so we can all adjust and still have time together.
Jordan is doing well too! He misses his sister when she is gone, but I think he enjoys the time he has with Mom and Noah.
Noah has been doing very well! It’s hard to believe that our baby isn’t a baby at all anymore! He’s walking so well, all the time now. He’s talking constantly, and in sentences and conversation form! God has been so good!
We were able to show Noah off at the hospital a couple of weeks ago. His main surgeon was able to see him walking and talk to him. It was so great to see how excited she was about this! He has come such a long way and there are many people that have been, and continue to be, involved in his care and to be able to share his progress and milestones with them, and see their joy and excitement is heartwarming.
Last week we met with another surgeon to discuss Noah’s ‘tethered cord’ (which means that the spinal cord cannot freely move in the spinal column because it is ‘stuck’ in an abnormally low location). Knowing how long Noah was in the hospital last fall, how rough things were and how well Noah is doing right now, she was hoping to say that Noah would not need to have surgery and that we would be able to monitor him and watch his progress as he grows. However after examining Noah closer, the surgeon is not convinced that this is a surgery that we can put off. Noah is showing some signs of ‘tethered cord syndrome’ – his left leg is weaker and the muscle smaller than the right, and bowel and bladder issues also arise with a tethered cord. (Of course with Noah these issues are more involved, but it is possible that this surgery would help to increase bowel and bladder function a little bit).
Noah is now on a wait list for a spinal MRI as well as on the list for a test to check how far his leg nerves carry information up his leg. Once these 2 things are completed, we will meet with the surgeon again and revisit the possibility of surgery.
For now, we enjoy the break and good health!
In other exciting news we would like to share with you that we are expecting a new child! I am now 20 weeks along and as far as we can tell things are going well. Of course, this news brought on much excitement as well as anxiety. We cannot help but remember how things went with Noah and are trying to leave this unborn child in the hands of our Heavenly Father. This week I go for an ultrasound and pray that this may show that all things are well and developing as they should with the little baby. We hope to have out fears put to rest and yet we know that all things are in God’s hands and trust this to Him.

Congratulations!!! And may God give you peace as you go (have gone?) for the ultrasound. Thankful also to read how well Noah is doing. Praying that the next surgery goes well and not have near the complications he had last fall. May God continue to surround your family.
