Time has flown by since Noah's port-a cath was put in, and it has gone well!
Noah came home from that surgery and we haven't looked back since. The port needs to be flushed once a month to make sure that it stays open and useable and every time it gets flushed I could cry with joy over how easy it is! We can freeze the area so Noah cannot feel a thing and it is a one-poke deal! My only regret is that we didn't get it put in when Noah really needed it, but we are so thankful that it is here for future surgeries.
On the future surgery note, we have nothing in the foreseeable future. We meet with another surgoen at the of August to discuss surgery for Noah's tethered spinal cord (which if left, will affect the way his legs grow as his body grows). So, until then, we have the entire summer to enjoy being a family and have our very healthy and very happy Noah home with us.
Noah has been doing so well! He has been walking around furniture and holding hands with someone for quite awhile now and loves it.
Just last week, he discovered that he can take steps on his own and hasn't looked back since. Our little boy can walk all by himself!
It brought tears to our eyes to see him take these first steps and to see the look of joy and pride on his face! He hasn't stopped walking since and it's been such a joy to see.
After everything we were told in the beginning, and how long it has taken Noah to learn skills and reach milestones, here we are! God has shown how good He is and how He has been with us every step of the way.
'Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens,
