We all have quesitons at one time or another. There are the everyday questions: What should I wear? Where are we going? What should I do? What's for dinner?
And then there are life questions: What career should I choose? Where should we love? ...I'm sure that you get the idea.
We don't always receive answers to our questions. And sometimes there are questions that we're not even sure that we should be asking. Who are we to question what is happening in our lives? We know that God is in control and why does that not seem like enough?
Things have been going very well for us. Noah has been home from the hospital for 3 weeks and doing very well. We've all been enjoying the hospital break and life at home. It's been great to see Noah at home and thriving.
Danielle and Jordan have enjoyed Noah being home as well.
This home-time hasn't been without sickness. Danielle spent her 5th birthday lying on the couch with a bowl beside and her party had to be postponed. Noah also got this bug and so he had diarrhea. This was quite concerning as he was putting out more than he was taking in and was coming close to being dehydrated. I brought him in on Monday to have him looked at and the doctor said that because he was still drinking that minimum amount and also peeing the minimum amount, as well as crying real tears (a sign that the body has fluid), she was happy to let him come home and not pout him on IV fluids. This was very relieving to us and we were very thankful that upon coming home he ate 3 bowls of broth for dinner!
This relief was short-lived. Noah woke up through the night on Tuesday night, which is very out of character for him. In the morning he also had a fever, which is a bad sign in Noah. He also seemed to have a chesty sounding cough.
I called the doctor and then brought him in to emerge. A urine sample and blood work was taken, as well as a chest xray. The xray appeared clear and the urine seemed to be high in white cells.
It was decided that, given Noah's history of going from good to bad very quickly, Noah should be put on IV antibiotics until cultures were taken and it could be decided what was going on with Noah. We were expecting it to be a bladder infection and yet this morning the doctors said that his urine seems okay and his chest xray showed a samll spot on Noah's left lung. It seems that Noah has pnuemonia and we caught it very early.
This is how things have been left at the moment. It is very frustrating to be told one thing and then another later. We pray that it will be determined what is going on with Noah and that further treament can be done at home so that Noah may be able to return home soon. (He was really NOT impressed to be back in the hospital, and it was hard especially with him being so happy despite his fever).
And then there are life questions: What career should I choose? Where should we love? ...I'm sure that you get the idea.
