Weary

'Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up on wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.'

Isaiah 40: 28-31

This past Sunday, the minister prayed for Noah and our family. In his prayer he said something along the lines of us not being weary for this road that we are on.
During the past few days, Rob and I have spoken to each other about how weary we have become with the journey that we are on and how ready we are for it to be over. When we heard the minister say this, we couldn't help but think 'really? but we are so very weary.'
And yet, when we read the verses that this phrase come from, we can be assured that even though we may, at times be weary, our Heavenly Father does NOT grow weary and that, when we wait upon Him, we receive strength and power.
What a comfort and blessing this is!

Noah is doing quite well. Everything is healing and working well. He is eating well and for the most part is very happy. Lately he has been getting spoiled with gifts and they definitely help him pass the time!

Noah's regular surgeon is now back and she is pleased with the surgery that was done and with how things look right now.
Noah has had a few rough and restless nights, so some tests are being done to see if he has an infection brewing somewhere. We hope to get those results tomorrow, which will help determine the next steps we need to take.

Noah was scheduled to be on IV antibiotics till Thursday, so the tentative plan is to keep him in hospital till Friday at least, to see how he does without them. There are also some ultrasounds and other tests that need to be done, which will be mush easier in-hospital, with the picc line still in place.

We hesitate when we hear the work 'home' used in the the same sentence as 'Noah'. So much has happened in the past 9 weeks that is hardly seems possible that one day he really will come home to stay. And yet we know that with God all things are possible and we pray that, in His time, He may see fit to bring Noah home to us again.

Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks:
