Swamps

'Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.'
Habakkuk 3:17-19a (NIV)

This verse was once again brought to my attention this week. I was listening to a radio program that was speaking about courage. Dr. David Jeremiah (the speaker of this particular program) spoke about how Habakkuk prayed to the Lord for the people of Isreal, for deliverance, and the Lord revealed to him that He was going to send the Chaldeans to defeat Isreal. This was surely not the type of deliverance Habaakkuk had in mind! Even knowing what lay ahead for Isreal, and surely for himself as well, Habakkuk prayed this prayer, rejoicing in the Lord.

And so, Dr. Jeremiah said, for us in the swamps of life, we also need to praise the Lord. In order to get to the other side of a swamp, you need to walk on the dry areas. During the difficult times of life, the dry areas are the praises of our Heavenly Father and the promises that He gives us. May our eyes and hearts always remain focused above!

Noah is improving! He turns around so quickly and for this we give thanks!
After being put back on IV fluids Noah perked up considerably.

The tests that were done showed that Noah does have a bladder infection (the one from last week grew after Noah's IV antibiotics were stopped) and it is also said that Noah has C-Diff again.
This is not as full blown as the first time, and it could just be that b/c Noah had c-diff not so long ago there are still some bacteria in his bowels, enough to show that he has the infection, but not enough to cause the same amount of discomfort. He is certainly much happier and eating much more than last time!

Although Noah has received another setback, he is such a trooper! He is receiving excellent care in the hospital and even has people coming to sit and play and read with him in his room when we are not there. The nurses are all in love with Noah and so he has many 'visitors' saying hi throughout the day.
Noah is smiling and joking aournd with again and it is wonderful to see!

At home we are all doing well. After Rob being sick and then me, and now Danielle having a cold, we get through each day, one at a time. We are more than ready for Noah to be home and continue to pray that this day may come.
We have been given strength that can only be from above and are thankful for all that we have received.

Thank you all for your continued love and support, prayers and meals, help with cleaning and laundry and a special thank you to the men that have come out to help with our basement rennovations. We truly appreciate it!
