The idea for this blog post was to be writing you to tell you how happy we are to have Noah home, for Noah was scheduled to come home yesterday. However, as before, Noah could not come home because he started vomitting on Sunday morning and was not doing well at all.
It was such a disappointment to be told this again. We purposely had not told many people, and certainly had not told Danielle and Jordan for fear that this would happen again. Even though it was a possibility, we had prayed that this time he would stay well enough to come home and were ourselves completely disappointed when he could not. It is so hard to continue on like this and see your child sick, so frustrating to think that things never seem to improve.
In speaking with the surgeon yesterday and explaining how we felt at home when we got the call, having the kids say 'Mommy, why are you crying?' and needing to tell them the sad news, even the surgeon herself was in tears with me.
For those of you that have been in to visit Noah and saw how well he was, this is likely almost unimagineable. Noah can change so fast, for the worse as well as for the better.
However, after being put back on IV fluids, Noah has perked up again and is back on the right road.
Although we are not completely sure what the issue is, and again further tests are being done, we know that a big part of it is that once Noah is unhooked from everything, he gets dehydrated. A big part of this is that his new bag is on his small bowels, so his colon does not have the chance to retain water for his body.
We will keep praying and trusting in the LORD as the days continue.
