'In this world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world' John 16:33b
I am sure that many of you have been waiting for a blog updating, hoping to read about how Noah's transition home went.
Unfortunately, Noah did not come home this week.
Once again, he became backed up, unable to stool and his belly became distended because of this.
Our poor boy. It seems there is always one thing after another with him, and evey time we come close to having him home, another setback occurs.
It had been discovered on Friday morning that Noah was receiving the wrong concentration of laxative, which was not helping him pass stool. The abscess on his bum also seems to come and go and right now it is back and causing him pain, which of course, also does not help him pass stool.
They have started to irrigate Noah's colon from the bottom again (inserting a cathater into his bum and pushing water into his bowels). The is meant to help loosen his stool enough that he is able to pass it easily. It is an uncomfortable process for Noah and yet we are thankful that it does seem to help and allow him to be more comfortable.
When Noah is cleared out enough, he is still very cheerful and easy-going. He has a lot of 'friends' in the hospital and spends a lot of time out at the nurses desk watching the world go by. Another favourite pasttime is looking out the window watching traffic go by.
As the days continue to go by that Noah is in the hospital, we conitue to struggle through each day trying to maintain a cheerful countenance. This hospital stay is beginning to wear us down and raise our stress levels like never before. Trying to be parents as well as an advocate for Noah not always an easy task. We need to remember that the doctors are also only human and that in all of this, our Heavenly Father is watching and caring for Noah far deeper than we so.
We would like to express out heartfelt gratitude for you continued prayers and support. This support has come in so many ways, and we pray that even if we do not say the words as often as we should, you know how much we appreciate you.

Dear Rob and Anne,
ReplyDeleteReading your blog posts makes us realize again how fragile life and health can be. I am sure you often ask why!!! That is a tough question and only God can answer it. We know that He knows, He is good and He has our best in mind. O may the Lord give relief and allow Noah to come out of all this a man of faith with purpose and meaning in life... We have not been able to access the internet that regularly, but our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Cornelis, Greta, Jonathan, Benjamin and Andrew
We continue to pray, Anne. I can't imagine all of these ups and downs. We pray that you will be given what you need, one day at a time. May God hold each of you very tight, so that you may feel His presence near you.
