It is amazing how quickly things change with Noah. Both for the better and the worst.
Since the last blog update, Noah has improved a great deal. So much, in fact, that the plan is for him to come home soon!
They kept up an aggressive flushing schedule with Noah to completely empty his bowels out. This was an uncomfortable procedure for Noah, especially when they were doing it from the bottom.
It is difficult to see your child suffering, and as a parent, you would do anything to take their place. It is difficult to understand the reason things happen and we pray that we will not question the LORD, but rest in His care and entrust Noah to Him.
Over the weekend Noah also showed that he had an abscess (bascially a pocket of fluid) on his bum, right around his bum hole, which was leaking some puss. He was very uncomfortable with this and it was causing him a lot of pain. The surgeon believes that this is one of the major reasons why Noah was getting backed up like he was, b/c this abscess was blocking stool from coming out.
As of Sunday, Noah was pretty well cleaned out and was getting very angry with everyone b/c all he wanted to do was eat, and no one was letting him! He was finally able to eat a few crackers, but always wanted more and was very vocal about that!
These past few days he has been SO happy and doing really well. He is trying to stand in his crib and crawling around it (on all fours!). Noah also spends a lot of time in the stroler hanging out with the nurses!
We have been told that Noah is ready to come home, and yet we hesitate. It doesn't sound right that we hesitate in bringing our son home, yet with all the out and in we've been doing, we really do not want to go through that again. We want to be as sure as we possibly can that Noah is on the right road and will not slide when we get home. We pray that this will be the case when he comes home this time and that our family may be back to together again.
