Here are the emails that we sent to family and friends throughout today for updates on Noah's surgery:

Noah has been in surgery since 9 this morning and we have just received an update.
Unfortunately they found that too much of Noah's colon had retracted and could not be restitched into place bc the scarring on it would be too great, which would minimize function and control down the road.
They are now going to bring Noah's colostomy down, connect that and then create a new colostomy until his bum heals.
They anticipate surgery to go until 3pm, so it is going to be another long and emotional day for us again.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
A mere 6 hours after Noah's surgery, we are back up in his ward room!
Noah was in surgery for 3 hours and recovery for 2. In the surgeons words, Noah's surgery 'went perfect'.
During surgery, they discovered that Noah's colon had pulled free from all but 2 stitches. That part of his colon had indeed retracted and when they cut the other 2 stitches free, that piece of the colon came free was pulled completely out without a problem. The pulled Noah's colostomy straight down and it slid into place very smoothly and they decided NOT to give Noah a new colostomy. We were not expecting this, but it is nice b/c it saves Noah another surgery further down the road to contect things.
Noah was under anasthetic for a much shorter time period than last week and has had no troubles breathing and his lungs sound good! We now need to watch for diaper rash, which will occur as Noah's bum has never had anything on it; they will be applying a thick cream to protect his skin.
We stand in awe of the power of our LORD in how smoothly things went for this surgery and also in how well Noah is doing post-surgery.What an awesome Father we have! Thank you all so much for your prayers during this day. They certainly helped us stand and be strong for Noah.
