In Romans 8:35-39, Paul writes 'Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger or sword?...no, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
On my way home from the hospital this evening, I heard a radio broadcast on this text and it was a very timely hearing. For all of us, there are times when we feel like God has forgotten us, that there is no way He can understand what we are going through. Yet it is not what we feel that matters, it is what we know. If we know the scriptures, we know, as Paul writes, that nothing can separate us from the love of God. What a comfort this is!
People often think that believing in God is a guarantee to a life without hardship, yet this is not the case. Hardships are meant to make us stronger and draw us closer to our Saviour.
Noah's hospital stay of an estimated 6 days has turned into 3 weeks, with no quick end in sight.
Noah is still having fevers, which we have been told in due to the
c-diff.
He is also still on IV feed b/c he is not eating enough by mouth (he has been allowed to eat solid food now which makes him very happy!) and b/c of this they cannot even think about sending him home.
For the most part, Noah is quite happy. He spends time playing and reading and flirting with the hospital staff! Nurses that had Noah when he first came to the hospital come over to say hello and ask us what we are still doing there. We keep telling everyone to stop treating Noah so well so he will want to come home (if only it were so simple!).
Noah is well taken care of by the staff at the hospital and it is such a comfort to us, especially when we have to leave him.
Dividing time between home and hospital, Danielle and Jordan, Noah, and Rob has become a difficult thing to do (it was never easy). If there was ever a time I would like to be in 2 places at once, it is now! It is alos difficult for Danielle and Jordan b/c they have not been able to see Noah during the last week due to his being in isolation.
I pray for patience, love and understanding for each one of us.
