When I went in to see Noah at the hospital yesterday I noticed that they had taken out his IV. I was concerned about this b/c Noah is very difficult to get an IV in to and I was worried that they would need to do it all over again.
Much to our surprise we were told that Noah was allowed to come home yesterday afternoon already.
We were happy about this and also hesitant. Just the day before we were told that they would not be considering sending Noah home anytime soon, and now he was okay to come home?!
We decided to let Noah stay in the hospital for one more night to make sure that everything went well with his IV being out and to see if his fevers returned.
Noah’s surgeon is pleased with everything that was done surgery wise.
With regards to the c-diff we were, and are,quite concerned as it is not a pleasant disease to have and we do not want Danielle and Jordan, nor ourselves to get it. We have been told that c-diff is contagious for the first 4-5 days and that now we need to practice proper and frequent hand-washing and keep the kids away from diaper changes.
And so our hearts are truly rejoicing this day for NOAH IS HOME!
It has been 3 weeks since all 5 of us have been home for dinner and an evening and I cannot begin to tell you have wonderful it felt. God is good!
It is not without anxiety that we have Noah home, for he is still on antibiotics for c-diff and still has occasional fevers. Taking care of him post-surgery is also not without its challenges and now we are on our own in doing this.
But to have seen the look on Noah’s face, the excitement he showed in being home, playing with Danielle and Jordan and being free to crawl around, makes it worth it!
We have been given a blessing and also a challenge in raising Noah and pray that we will be able to do this task to the glory of our LORD.
