Noah's surgery date has been set and confirmed for Wednesday October 3 at 9am. A mere week and a half away!
During this surgery there are going to be 2 surgeons working together to create a bum hole for Noah. There will be 2 b/c they will be doing this surgery the 'old' way, meaning more intrusive in that rather than using the cameras and needing only a few small incisions, they will putting Noah on his stomach and making one large incision on his lower back/bum to perform the surgery.
Another doctor, Noah's respirologist, will be doing a bronchoscopy (putting a camera down the airways into the lungs) while he is under anasthetic to see if there is a blockage or another explanation as to why Noah continues to get pnuemonia.
I can tell you in all honesty that both Rob and I are anxiuos about this surgery. They have booked Noah for 5 hours of surgery and what they are doing is huge. Yet, we know that the LORD is watching over us, and over Noah and that He will use this to the glory of His Holy Name.
