Some sort of flu bug has come to our house and decided to stay for awhile. It started with me and then went to Noah (or so I thought) and now it has hit Danielle.
The day after I was sick, Noah vomited and the next morning he had a fever. I decided to make an appointment with his pediatrician b/c Noah and fevers are never a good combination. I was tempted to cancel the appointment when he woke up at lunch time happy and fever-free, but decided to keep it. His Dr. did a urine test and it came back positive for bacteria and sent us on to emerge to get a cleaner sample taken. (I was able to drop Danielle and Jordan off at my sister’s house and can’t tell you how many times I thank God for sending her to this area at a time when I need her so bad).
After waiting in emerge for 5 hours it was determined that Noah does indeed have a very serious bladder infection. They kept him over night and continue to keep him in hospital to monitor his temperature and make sure that he keeps his meds down. We also want them to keep an eye on his kidney to make sure that the infection did not travel where it is most definitely not wanted.
We pray that Noah’s recovery may be speedy and that his kidney remain unaffected by this infection. We also pray that Danielle will feel better soon, as she was very disappointed to not be able to see Noah today.
We also pray that we, as parents, may have the strength to cope with yet another infection and may be all that our children, and each other, need us to be at this time.
