not yet...

Well, here we are at Wednesday night and Noah is still not home with us. The past days have taught me to come to the hospital with no expectations to avoid disappointment.

They removed Noah’s catheter on Tuesday morning and since then his urine output has been low. They are keeping him in the hospital now, not for his cough but because of his bladder. They need to keep an eye on things and make sure that he does pee. It is difficult for them to measure exactly how much urine is in Noah’s bladder because it is an irregular size and larger than normal. This makes it a little frustrating for when he does not pee because they can’t really tell how much he is holding inside.

It’s hard to believe how a surgery and recovery that went so well can now be causing such frustration. I am thankful that Noah is in the hospital where they can monitor things and have the doctors on hand within a phone call.

Noah is still quite cheerful, although at times a little more fussy than usual. It is not so easy to pass it off as being because he is hungry when there is the potential for so much more to be behind it.

A week of abnormal is taking its toll on all of us. It’s painful to have your family ‘torn apart’ like this and have everyone a little on edge. It is my prayer than Rob, Danielle and Jordan know how much I love them; these days maybe a little more than before.
