‘I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders…’ Psalm 77: 12-14b
Our God is holy and mighty. He shows us this time and again. He is forgiving and gracious in that He allows us, sinful people, to call upon His holy name and take refuge in Him. He is powerful and performs many miracles. He showed us that recently with my niece Morgan, who, one short week after being in a very serious accident was able to walk out of the hospital and return home.
He shows us time and again that He is the one who is control of all things. We saw this with Noah, who despite what doctors said, came into this world and survived. And He teaches us this over and over each day that we live.
Noah came home from the hospital with a cold. As the week went by the cold got worse and settled into his chest. On Thursday night both Rob and I were uncomfortable with how much Noah was coughing and struggling for each breath. I took him to Emerge where he had a chest x-ray. It was seen that his right lung was either full of mucus, or that it had collapsed because the airway leading to it was full of mucus, plugging the path to the lung. Noah has been admitted to the hospital, where he is on an antibiotic and ventilin puffer to help clear his lungs and he is on a very low amount of oxygen.
It feels so very wrong to say goodbye to Noah and leave him behind at the hospital, to lead a morning of ‘normal’ here at home without Noah being here. And although I am thankful that Danielle and Jordan take this is stride, it is hard to have it be normal for them to have Noah in the hospital, Danielle basically asking how long he will be there this time (and yet, I suppose that this is what we both need at home, the innocence and trust of our children).
Let us all be comforted by this verse ‘I cry aloud to God, aloud to God and He will hear me’. Psalm 77:1

ReplyDeleteWe continue to keep Noah and your family in our prayers. We were sad to hear of his setback and pray that the Lord give Noah a full recovery and give you both peace in His Care of Noah, and strength to take each day at a time.
