TIME

Lately I’ve been spending some time thinking about what things were like a year ago. It was just over a year ago now that we first found out that there were complications with our unborn baby. I will never forget the day I received a call from the doctor’s office that he wanted to see us to review our 12 week ultrasound. Alarms immediately went off in my head and a sinking began in the pit of my stomach.

Of course, the imagination is a great and wonderful thing, but it is also very dangerous. My mind imagined so many things throughout my pregnancy with Noah and I never thought that at the end of it all our family would be one of 5.
And yet here we are, 7 months after his birth and Noah continues to thrive! He is such a miracle boy and words cannot express how thankful and blessed I feel each time I look at him.

Life has been a rollercoaster this past year and it has taught us much about God, faith, prayer and family. We know that we are sinful people, often falling far short of what we are called to be, doubting and worrying and trying to go the way on our own. Yet God has showed time and again that He is faithful. He has carried us when we did not have the strength to keep going, He wiped our tears when they fell, rejoiced with us and showed us in so many ways that He is with us and He cares for us.
We have felt the prayers that surrounded us and continue to feel them as life carries on and it means so much to us. The body of Christ is truly an amazing and powerful blessing!

In just 2.5 weeks, Noah goes in for surgery again. It is not without anxiety and with much prayer, that we await this surgery. They will be closing Noah’s bladder (which currently drains through a hole in his stomach). It will be so nice to have one more piece of Noah made ‘normal’ and yet things need to function well after this surgery is done. The idea is that Noah will pee like a normal little boy once the hole is closed and that the flow of urine will keep his urethra open. And yet if this doesn’t work, it could cause many complications. If his bladder does not drain properly things will back flow into his kidneys, which is serious, especially as Noah only has 1 working kidney.
Yet Noah is healthy and strong so now is a good time to do this surgery.

We ask that you would remember Noah in your prayers as his surgery draws nearer and thank you all for your continues support.
