'I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.' Psalm 16:8
A few months ago now, we were informed by the doctors of Noah’s official diagnosis. Since then I have been reading up on it and have learned quite a bit about it. I’ve realized that I haven’t shared this diagnosis with anyone and I thought you might like to know, so you too can learn more about our precious Noah and his health concerns.
Noah has Prune Belly Syndrome, also know as Eagle-Barrett Syndrome. It is very rare, occurring in 1 of every 40,000 births. And God has determined that Noah should be one of these rare cases.
It is nice to have a name to give what Noah has and to know that, physically, he is not the only one who has this. It is very difficult at times to read about everything involved in PBS and not worry about what the future will hold for Noah. I pray constantly that he will be one of the ‘survivors’, as he has already proved to be and that the LORD will bless Noah with many years.
Since learning about this, I have spoken with a few people who have known someone who has PBS and have been encouraged in hearing that the people they know are walking, driving, generally healthy people and are in their 20’s+.
If you are interested in learning more about Prune Belly Syndrome, I encourage you to click here and read up on it.
We know that the LORD has a plan and purpose in all of our lives and that He is watching over Noah and taking the best possible care of Him. We place our trust in Him and find that we are not shaken when we come to Him for guidance and comfort.
