Believe it or not, I have written numerous blogs in the past few weeks...only none of them made it onto the blog... All I have to say is that life is busy!
Things are going well here at home. We're adjusting to life with Noah here, and now cannot imagine him not being here with is. We are getting into a new normal and that's comforting because life in past few months has been quite the rollercoaster.
Noah is growing, and getting nice chubby cheeks! He now weighs about 10.5 lbs. He is awake a lot and quite alert. He's just strated to play with the toys in his playpen and make some sounds - it's so lovely to listen to that!
Yet, having Noah home has not come without it's difficulties. 2 weeks ago now, Noah went in for an emergency surgery. His stoma was sinking into his stomach and he was having a very difficult and painful time passing stool. We discovered this on a Saturday and by Thursday he was in for surgery. It is such a blessing that we live so close to such a wonderful medical facility, as the doctor told us that Noah would not have been able to make it much longer the way things had been - the tip of his stoma was half the size of a pencil eraser and should have been about the size of a dime. My poor little boy was in so much pain by Thursday morning. It was a difficult thing to watch him being wheeled away from me for surgery, but it was also comforting to know that he was being repaired and would not be in such pain anymore.
Noah was only in the hospital for 1 day and came home; he certainly made it look fairly easy.
My 2 month old child has gone through much more in his short life than I have in my 28 years. If I could take it all away, I would in a heartbeat, but I know that I cannot. This is the path that the LORD has placed Noah, as well as us on, and as difficult as it can be at times, it is far above the alternative we had been given.
God has been so good to us!
