It’s hard to believe that Noah is now 5 weeks old. Where has the time gone? The past 5 months It’s have been such a rollercoaster of emotions, and we never thought we’d come this far, and yet here we are. God’s grace and mercy truly abound.

Noah has now been home for 2 1/2 weeks. Things have been a bit of a whirlwind here and there hasn’t been much time to sit down and write about how things are going. But, we know that you are all wondering and waiting to hear something!

Bringing Noah home was a completely unexpected thing for us. We thought he would be in the hospital for weeks, not a mere 3 weeks. It was wonderful to be home together, to finally truly be a family, but it was also rather difficult and overwhelming adjusting to having him here at home. It’s a lot different watching nurses take care of your son, and leaving him behind than having him at home and being the one to care for him 24 hours a day! The first few days were a bit rough, many tears were shed and much frustration felt. But Noah is SUCH an easy-going little guy and he has made the adjustment easier than we expected it to be. He doesn’t fuss much and sleeps a lot so figuring out how to change and bathe him was not as difficult as we thought it would be. The LORD knew we needed him to be relaxed and easy!

Danielle loves having Noah home and takes very good care of him. She’s always asking to hold him and commenting that ‘he’s such a tiny boy’. She is rather fascinated with everything about Noah. She is also very protective of him, and if you suggest taking Noah home with you, she will be quick to tell you that you are not allowed! Jordan has really just discovered Noah and it’s quite cute to watch! He gets very concerned when he hears Noah cry and will point and say ‘uh oh, baby’. He likes to give him his soother and rub his head. It is such a blessing to see all 3 of our children together.

Noah is thriving! He was born at 6lbs 11oz and he is now 8lbs! He’s getting chubby cheeks and a double chin! His appointments have all gone very well and the doctors are very pleased with how well he is doing – with regards to eating, growing, development, etc. He sleeps a lot, but when he is awake he is very alert and takes in the environment. He recognizes our voices and we can tell when he is paying attention to us; he is fascinated with Danielle and Jordan!
We have weekly appointments in London, which is manageable (we were expecting more). We have been told by the urologist that by 6 months they hope to close the bladder, provided that once they remove the tube Noah’s urethra will remain open. This is an exciting prospect!

All in all things have been going much better than we anticipated and we praise our heavenly Father for the blessings He continues to pour out upon us and the prayers He never ceases to answer.
