Bring the Rain

Not everyday passes by the same way, and I will admit, that lately they have been getting more difficult. There is a lot going on, and at times I can't seem to keep it all together.

I have a wonderful support system - my loving husband, my family, friends, church family...and most importantly, my Father in Heaven. I'll be the first to admit that He is not always the first place I turn to, in fact, He is quite often the last. I have discovered that when I place Him last, my world seems to crumble that much faster.
I know that He is watching over me, and He sees all that is going on. His heart aches with mine, and He weeps with me. Yet His presence is ever beside me, holding me and guiding me, never leaving me nor forsaking me.
He has promised:

'When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
For I am the LORD, you God, the Holy one of Isreal, your Saviour.'
Isaiah 43:2-3

What comfort we can find when we seek it in His Word!

It is not always easy, but I'd like to be able to sing 'Bring the Rain'.

  1. That verse from Isaiah is one of my favourites. I love the song in the psalter hymnal based on it - How Firm a Foundation. True and unshakable comfort that can never be taken away.

    Our hearts might still long for things to be different, but we can find peace knowing that nothing comes by chance, but from the hand of a loving and faithful Father.

    The house built on the Rock stands firm, even when the storms come and beat against it.

    God blesses us with support from family, friends and church community. They are his gifts to us. The trick is not to place all our hope in the gifts, but rather in the Giver.

    You and Rob and your children remain in our prayers.
